Scalenut’s Prompts Insights is your window into the "black box" of AI engines. By revealing the exact user questions driving responses on platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity, this tool allows you to analyze AI reasoning, monitor brand sentiment, and pinpoint the specific content that earns citations.

Welcome to Prompts Insights, your investigative powerhouse! This section of the Scalenut dashboard reveals the exact user questions driving AI responses, allowing you to decode their reasoning and engineer higher rankings with precision.
1. Navigating the Prompt Database
Start in the Prompts Insights section. This is a searchable database of every tracked query for your brand.
- Filter & Group: Use the search bar for specific prompts or filter by themes to focus on product lines.
- Key Metrics: Scan the data for each prompt, including Visibility percentage, execution count, citation frequency, and which competing brands are being listed alongside you.
2. The Deep Dive Overlay
Click any prompt to open the detailed overlay:
- Visibility & Position: View line charts for presence trends and bar charts comparing your rank across different AI engines (remember, a lower number is better!).
- Responses Tab: This houses raw execution data—dates, regions, snippets, and citation sources. Tap any row to see the Full Reasoning Path and the complete AI text context.
- Source Citations: View card-based citations with URLs and titles to see exactly what content types—like how-to guides or reviews—the AI finds most trustworthy.
3. Decoding AI Logic: Fanout & Sentiment
- Query Fanout: See how a complex question "fans out" into sub-queries. This reveals the specific angles the AI considers (like "setup ease" or "pricing"), helping you create more targeted content.
- Sentiments Tab: This breaks down AI responses into Positive (praise), Neutral (facts), or Negative (drawbacks). Use the occurrence metrics to flag shifts in your brand reputation.
4. Mastering Citations
Finally, explore the Citations tab. This lists every referenced source per prompt. You can see your Citation Share and Citation Rank across categories like company sites or third-party reviews. Identifying your top-ranked citation pages tells you exactly which content is providing the most value to AI search engines.
